Welcome to the inaugural Yankton Riverboat Days Kayak Run!

On Aug. 17, you can add a short kayak race to your Yankton Riverboat Days festivities! The Riverboat Days Kayak Run is a "fun-run" style six-mile kayak race on the Missouri River. It starts at 2 p.m. at the boat ramp at Toe Road. Paddlers then race - at their own pace - to Paddlewheel Point. The route takes them right past Riverside Park, giving all who take part a unique view of Yankton's biggest celebration of the summer!

Racers will register near the boat ramp at Toe Road, just south of the entrance to Chief White Crane State Recreation Area. There they'll sign an insurance waiver and be welcomed to the event. No one can race without completing a waiver. Registration will open at 12:30 p.m. and the race will begin at 2 p.m.

Registration is $25 and all paddlers are welcomed. The fee covers insurance and t-shirts. If enough people sign up, a part of the event fees will be used to honor those who finish first or who race with the best costumes. Registration will close on Aug. 10.

Vehicles will shuttle racers from the river's edge to the parking area at Paddlewheel Point, just west of the Yankton Visitor's Center. Staff will shuttle kayaks from the water to the parking area, too.

Sign up today by filling out this registration form. Mail it with payment to
